This ring prevents moisture penetration through the thread of the F-socket and the nut of an F-connector.
For 100% protection against moisture ingress, the F-connector must have an O-ring or a seal between the nut and the body, as well as in the cable intake.
For waterproof Cabelcon CX3 connectors, the Seal Ring is redundant, as these connectors are already 100% waterproof according to IPX8 when properly installed.
